Weird Habits

wow, its been awhile since Ive had some time to write. I am in the middle of grad school apps to: U Washington, U Colorado Boulder, Tufts, UCSB, UCLA. Luckily, I read Robert's blog, which 'tagged' me to write about my five weirdest habits, and inspired me to write. Well, here they are:

1. I constantly check my purse or backpack to make sure I have everything. After I pay for something, I check how much money I have left and order it in increasing denominations, or double check that all my credit cards are still there. Sometimes I check the bulge in my purse to make sure I have my phone and wallet, or my keychain to make sure I have all my keys....its pretty ridiculous, but I never lose anything.

2. I have crazy road rage. I dont just mumble obscenities under my breath. I will put a particular finger close to the windshield or window and wait until the person looks in their mirror or at me. I will yell things and honk which is pretty normal for LA, but on a few occasions, I have gotten out of my car and lectured people. If they really make me mad, I will tailgate them or flash my brights on and off until they turn off my path.

3. I hate not knowing things. It sounds vague, but even little things. I can't deal with surprises or secrets, and I hate when I dont know what someone is thinking, especially if its how they feel about me. This is definitely a control issue....

4. I get joy from cooking for others. When my family went to Chicago for break, I cooked dinner for my grandma and brother. I cooked for my friends when they stayed over. Every weekend morning I cook for my boyfriend (potatoes and pancakes), and I totally enjoy every minute of it. It concerns me slightly, because I think its related to a biological urge to care for others....like a family.

5. If you havent noticed, I am pretty controlling and particular. One of the few things I am not anal about is laundry. I dont seperate my clothes at all. I wash towels with jeans with underwear. I wash everything in cold water and dont use fabric softener (unless I am at my mom's house). In the dorms, I washed my clothes in color-safe bleach all year, and never noticed until summer when my mom pointed it out.

I will post again soon!
